Vick to Seattle?

With Michael Vick being released from prison, where the quarterback may land is anyone’s guess.

However, some NFL experts believe that the Seattle Seahawks would be the perfect landing spot for the veteran.

The Seahawks are in need of a younger quarterback to eventually take over for Matt Hasselback, who probably only has a couple of seasons remaining.

Vick also has plenty of experience with new head coach Jim Mora Jr., who coached the quarterback when the two were together in Atlanta.

Mora wasn’t all that fond of Vick at the time, but maybe the two can get on the same page in Seattle.

Seahawks sign Pittman

The Seattle Seahawks have reached a long-term contract agreement with veteran long-snapper Bryan Pittman.

Pittman is getting the opportunity to return home having played his college football with the Washington Huskies.

He started 92 straight games with the Houston Texans before he was suspended for four games in December by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

He used a diuretic, which is used to make steroids.

Finding a long-snapper has been a problematic proposition for the Seahawks for some time now, so they are hoping they have finally found their solution in the veteran Pittman.

Seahawks believe last year was aberration

The Seattle Seahawks truly believe that last year’s 4-12 record was a blip on the radar screen and not a trend, and they were excited about the chance to prove it on the field.

Not only are veterans of the team certain of a far better season, but newcomers are as well.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzedah signed a contract with the club in the offseason and believes the Seahawks are ready to take flight again in 2009.

He is encouraged by the fact that the team made some offseason moves to improve the team and should get a huge boost from the return of a number of injured players.

Houshmandzedah is really excited about the chance of an offensive breakout with the return of injured stars Matt Hasselback and Deion Branch.

Burleson healthy again

The Seattle Seahawks decided not to select a wide receiver in the NFL Draft, but they may have picked up a playmaker anyway.

Wide receiver Nate Burleson missed all of last season after tearing ligament in his knee, and he still has the brace around it to remind him of the horrific injury.

However, Burleson is now at minicamp running pass routes like nothing ever happened, and the Seahawks couldn’t be happier at the sight.

Burleson is the team’s deep-ball threat, a guy that can stretch the field with his long legs that make it appear as though he runs like a gazelle.

The team is hopeful that Burleson and Deion Branch will both finally be healthy this year and able to team with free agent signing T.J. Houshmandzadeh to form a dangerous wideout trio.

Seahawks land Curry

The Seattle Seahawks ended up with a steal with the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft, landing linebacker Aaron Curry.

Many felt that the Seahawks would look to take either quarterback Mark Sanchez or wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

However, the Seahawks believe that Matt Hasselback will be healthy this year and they were not sold on Sanchez as a franchise quarterback.

They also managed to sign wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh in free agency, which meant Crabtree wasn’t a necessity.

Instead, the team decided they should select a linebacker who was rated the best player on the board.
