Seahawks debut lottery tickets

The Seattle Seahawks have debuted their scratch lottery tickets, making them one of the first teams to do so.

The top prize of the Seahawk ticket is $50,000. Losing tickets can be thrown into a drawing for $12,00 and two tickets to a game.

The NFL announced in the offseason that they would allow teams to enter into deals with their state lottery.

The New England Patriots became the first team to announce a deal with their state lottery.

Wallace wants to start

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Seneca Wallace doesn’t want to settle for a backup job in the NFL.

The backup quarterback to Matt Hasselback believe he is good enough to be a starter in the league.

This isn’t to say there is a quarterback controversy in Seattle, as Hasselback is clearly the guy so long as he can stay healthy.

That said, the team will likely be looking for a new backup quarterback if Wallace is set on testing his skills elsewhere.

Seahawks need solid running game

One thing that has gone unnoticed in the demise of the Seattle Seahawks is their lack of a running game.

Things first started going downhill after guard Steve Hutchinson left to sign a big deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

Then things got progressively worse as running back Shaun Alexander seemed to go from one of the top guys at his position to hardly employable in a year’s time.

The team has Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett in the backfield for now, but neither is going to set the world on fire.

The Seahawks need to find someone who can give them consistent production at the running back position.

Schmitt arrested for DUI

Seattle Seahawks fullback Owen Schmitt was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Schmitt has essentially admitted his guilt, saying he made a big mistake and apologizing to the team, his teammates and their fans.

The fullback was observed by an officer to be weaving on the roadway and following cars too closely.

The officer then noticed several signs of intoxication after pulling Schmitt over, and his blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit of .08.
